Lumaya na ngayong araw si Kim Gargar, dating propesor sa Unibersidad ng Pilipinas, siyentista at kolumnista ng Pinoy Weekly, matapos payagang makapagpiyansa ng korte sa Baganga, Davao Oriental. Si Gargar ay inaresto noong Oktubre 1, 2013 at kinasuhan ng illegal possession of explosives at attempted murder. Pinaratangan siya ng mga militar na miyembro daw ng New People’s Army. Iginiit ng mg progresibong grupo na hindi miyembro ng NPA si Gargar bagkus isang siyentistang kasalukuyang nagsasagawa ng pananaliksik sa lugar na pinangyarihan ng engkuwentro ng militar at NPA
