Students of the University of the Philippines Manila (UPM), led by student councils and the UPM Kilos Na alliance, held a demonstration at the steps of the UP Diliman Quezon Hall Building, 6 August 2014, to protest a "de-facto tuition increase" in UP. They called for the scrapping of the Socialized Tuition System (STS) and all forms of tuition or fee hikes in the university. Larawan: Kabataan nagprotesta sa loob ng Kamara, dagdag-badyet sa edukasyon iginiit

Nagsagawa ng lightning rally ang mga kabataan sa ilalim ng National Union of Students of the Philippines o NUSP habang may deliberasyon ng badyet sa loob ng Kamara. Itinaboy din sila ng security ng Kamara. Nasa harap si Catanduanes Rep. Cesar Sarmiento, tila walang pakialam sa nagaganap na protesta. Ipinoprotesta ng mga estudyante ang pagkaltas ng 1.7% ng badyet sa state colleges and universities sa panukalang pambansang badyet, habang patuloy na mataas ang inilalaan sa badyet ng militar.
