Students of the University of the Philippines Manila (UPM), led by student councils and the UPM Kilos Na alliance, held a demonstration at the steps of the UP Diliman Quezon Hall Building, 6 August 2014, to protest a “de-facto tuition increase” in UP. They called for the scrapping of the Socialized Tuition System (STS) and all forms of tuition or fee hikes in the university.
