Moro human rights group Suara Bangsamoro has revealed to Pinoy Weekly that at least 1,500 Moro civilians have fled their communities in Brgy. Tukalanipao in Mamasapano town of Maguindanao province in the aftermath of the fighting between police Special Action Force (SAF) commandos and members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) on January 25.

The number of fleeing civilians was provided by the local government of Mamasapano, according to Jerome Succor Aba, spokesperson of Suara Bangsamoro.

As of this writing, the civilians have camped out on both sides of the national road, Aba added.
