Immediate help is needed.

Large parts of Luzon in the Philippines are now experiencing heavy flooding caused by torrential monsoon rains, intensified by tropical storm “Maring”. And while local and national government agencies launch rescue, evacuation and relief operations for many provinces in Northern and Central Luzon, Cagayan Valley, Southern Luzon and Metro Manila, help eludes still a larger number of communities. Progressive organizations are among the non-government organizations now active  in mounting relief efforts, especially for an estimated tens of thousands stranded in their homes as the floods continue to rise, as well as those in cramped government-identified evacuation centers.

Announcements for a few of such efforts are found below. Those who can help are encouraged to do so in this time of grave need.
